Audio to Voice, Video to Video Notes: Convert Media When Reposting
How to automatically turn audio into voice messages, videos into round video notes and back when reposting on Telegram: five conversions, order and conditions.
Sometimes content works better in a different format. A music track as a voice message that plays with one tap. A video as a round video note that people watch right in the feed without opening it. A lecture as audio to listen to with headphones. CopyPost supports five conversions.
Available conversions #
| Conversion | What you get |
|---|---|
| Audio → voice message | the file is re-encoded to Opus and sent as a voice message |
| Voice message → audio | the voice message becomes an MP3 file with a title |
| Video → video message | the video is cropped to a centered square, up to 60 seconds — a round video note |
| Video message → video | the round video note becomes a regular video |
| Video → audio track | the sound is extracted from a video or video note as an MP3 |
How to set it up #
In the pipeline editor, add a “Convert media” rewrite and pick an option. The conversion only applies to matching messages: “Audio → voice message” won’t touch photos or text.
Conversions can be combined with conditions. For example, turn videos into video notes only when
they are short — using a text filter for #videonote in the source caption — and leave all other
videos as they are.
Order matters #
Conversions and watermarks run in the order of your rewrites. “Video → video note” followed by “watermark on video notes” puts the logo on the finished video note. If the watermark goes first, it may end up outside the crop.
Videos without sound #
If a video has no audio track, “Video → audio track” has nothing to extract — the message will not be sent with an empty file, and the error will appear in the delivery log.
How much it costs #
Conversions are free on every plan, and the speed is the same for everyone.
